Jamie Brace, a Native American from the Lac Courte Oreilles band of the Ojibwe Tribe is a Milwaukee native, and the proud recipient of the Shepherd Express 2007 Best Female Vocalist Award. She is the lead vocalist for the blues band Hounds Tooth (Best Blues Band 2006 - Shepherd Express).
Jamie's voice has been compared to Susan Tedeschi and Janis Joplin. She can make'em her own whether slow like Ottis Redding's "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" or fast like Led Zepplin's "Rock and Roll!"
Having studied at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee's eastside, Jamie brings a powerful and passionate voice that stirs the emotions and soothes the soul. Jamie is inspired by talents like Janis Joplin, Sara Evans and Martina McBride among so many other gifted musicians. Music has been in Jamie's heart her entire life.
Jamie was further honored with an invitation by Alaria Taylor to perform at Chick Singer Night at Caroline's in Milwaukee on February 19, 2008! Alumni of this incredible organization include Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones and Lisa Loeb and now includes Jamie!
