Hello family and friends,
What a great few weeks I have had. Greg and I just finished up our Artist in Residency at James Madison Middle School in Appleton, WI this week. We spent 4 days with 7th and 8th graders teaching them songwriting, rhythm and mutual respect through our workshop Kindred Spirits Workshop! We had such an amazing time with the students and their music teacher Mrs. Klein. We were so impressed with Mrs. Klein. What a wonderful teacher the James Madison Middle School students have!
Our Kindred Spirits Workshop is designed to teach mutual respect among all through music. We take the students on a journey through out life experiences talking about stereotypes, prejudices and how we can break those barriers through music. The creative mission every time we work with students is to write a positive song together. :)
Now that we are back home from about a month of traveling (New York, San Diego and Appleton) I'm ready to kick back a little and continue with writing more songs for a solo CD that I am going to embark upon in the future. :)
Next month I will be the honored guest speaker at the Lac Courte Orielles Community College graduation. I am very excited and honored to be a part of this special day.
Peace,
Jamie :)
remember...love much and often
